About Us

East of Eden where you will find a unique, individualized salon experience that combines the latest beauty trends and natural hair care and makeup products from Moroccanoil, Eufora, Simply Organic and Jane Iredale all with a healing touch. Kimvan and the staff from East of Eden have been serving clients in Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie for over 11 years. Please read our Commitment to Learning section to see the exciting advanced training each East of Eden stylist is receiving in early 2012.    

Our Mission

East of Eden Salon provides the highest quality services using only professional natural based products with a focus on wellness and personal attention to create a beautifying and relaxing salon experience. We strive to help our clients attain a great sense of beauty from the inside out.

Our Staff

The highly talented and diverse staff at East of Eden Salon makes each client's beauty and style their top priority. Using current trends, professional products, specialized styling and color techniques, the staff at East of Eden takes your beauty to a new level. All staff members speak fluent English however we have staff members that also speak Vietnamese and Russian. Congratulations to East of Eden sylist Krystyana who did many of the hairstyles & make-up for the Hot Mama Boutique website models. 

Commitment to Learning

Team members and the salon grows only when knowledge of hair and beauty is constantly expanded. In January 2012 all East of Eden staff became Eufora 'Elite' certifed. This training enables our staff to better analyze our customers needs, and recommend the right natural products for your hair and body.  In February 2012 all of the East of Eden stylists will be attending Eufora's 3 day 'Foundations' training hands on class. Foundations is an advanced technical curriculum that provides instruction in a defined precision English haircutting system focusing on classic, horizontal perimeter shapes, blunt & graduation. This class will be instructed by Gerald Annunziato-Director of YOU School Academy.

It is our philosophy and practice that the customer always comes first, and deserves the absolute best our salon can offer. Our values are based on providing unique services and going "far above and beyond" the average salon experience. We also have the privilege of working with many clients who have lost their hair prematurely or from medical treatments and diseases.

Our Guarantee

East of Eden Salon guarantees each and every service. If a client is dissatisfied within 2 weeks of the service date, they have the option to have the service ‘redone’ to their satisfaction.

Our Owner

Kimvan Tran has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years, emigrating from South East Asia as a teen. She grew up believing in natural beauty and wellness and her passion is to make everyone feel good from the inside out. Kimvan is a master stylist and an expert in custom hair colors, hair color correction, naturally curly hair and Asian hair types as well as formal and bridal updo’s plus current styles and trends.

Association & Recognition

Vietnam Mission Trip

In 2006 and 2008 Kimvan had the honor to travel to her native South Vietnam on a Mission Trip to support and visit churches that partner with her local church in Eden Prairie. Kimvan also visited orphanages in Ho Chi Minh City to make a financial donations and to share Gods gift of love and care with them.
